"The Milton Junction Telephone", Milton Junction, Wisconsin, Thursday, Feb. 13, 1936, p 4.

Mrs. Augusta Bartz, widow of the late Charles F. Bartz, formerly of Milton Junction, died at the home of her daughter, Mrs. E. J. Lamphier in Janesville, Saturday morning, February 8 at 5 o'clock. Death resulted from a sudden heart attack which began at 4 a. m. Friday, after sleeping well during the night. Although she had been in failing health since a stroke she suffered four years ago, Mrs. Bartz was never confined to her bed and enjoyed and took a keen interest in everything that went on about her. As a loving and kind friend she will long be remembered by many relatives and neighbors. We will all remember her as one who had a kind word for everyone.

Augusta Clemens, daughter of William and Louise Clemens, was born in Germany, April 2, 1872. She came to America with her parents in 1875 to Jefferson, Wis., where she resided until her marriage to Carl Frederick Bartz of Edgerton Dec. 18, 1895. They lived in this vicinity until after the death of her husband in 1931.

Surviving her are five daughters, Mrs. Ruth Hull, Milwaukee; Mrs. Walter Kutz, Whitewater, Miss Louise Bartz, Waukesha, Miss Augusta Bartz, Elkhorn and Mrs. Jerome Lamphier of Janesville with whom she resided at the time of her death; three granddaughters, Mrs. Neil Bradley, Milwaukee, Margaret Hull, Jeanette Lamphier, Janesville; and four sisters, Mrs. Herman Dallman, Edgerton; Mrs. John Pantel, Fort Atkinson; Mrs. Edwin Roesler and Mrs. John Hauser, of Jefferson.

Services were held Monday at 1:30 p. m. in the home of Mr. and Mrs. E. J. Lamphier, Janesville and at the St. Johns Lutheran church at Milton at 2:30 p.m. with Rev. H. C. Schumacher officiating. Burial was in Milton Cemetery.
