Nora met Dale Bowersox and married him, Dale was reluctant to work, and at some time Nora and Dale divorced. It is believed that while she was living in Great Falls, or in the "West" that she met Frank and Jesse James, who later visited her. Frank became good friends with Nora's father Timothy and together they were instrumental in introducing harness racing to Allen County.

In later years Nora had snow-white hair and continued to work hard on her small farm. She had no children, but she was foster mother to more than 100 children over a ten-year period. I also remember her raising chickens for the eggs and meat. Her home in later years had curtains over doorways instead of doors and one large coal furnace in the center of the home was all that provided heat for the winter nights. Her peaceful composure and glowing personality provided the true warmth for her home. Nora was liked by nearly everyone that met her.
