The funeral Mass will be said at 11 a.m. Thursday at St. Liborius Catholic Church, Polo, by the Rev. Mike Schneider. Burial will be in Mount Calvary Cemetery, Polo.
Conrad T. Schlechter was born Feb. 5, 1895, in Fairview Township, Hand County (obit error, s/b Faulk County) , to Mr. and Mrs. Anton (Mathilda Schaefers) Schlechter. He spent all of his life in Fairview Township and was a World War I veteran. He married Mary K. Venjohn Aug. 23, 1927, at Polo. He has been a resident of Prairie Good Samaritan Center since September 1983. He was a member of the Catholic Order of Foresters and the American Legion.
Survivors include his wife of Polo; three sons, Maurice, Paul and Lawrence, all of Polo; 15 grandchildren and five great-grandchildren; a brother, August Schlechter, Rockwell, Iowa; five sisters, Mrs. John (Bernadine) Oligmueller of Highmore, Mrs. Tillie Slunecka and Mrs. Minnie Slunecka, both of Miller, Mrs. Marie Venjohn, Polo, and Mrs. Eleanor Campbell, Miller.
He was preceded in death by his parents, two brothers, Herman and Xavier, and two sisters, Ann and Frances Froning.
Pallbearers will be Michael, Theodore, Robert, Terrance, Alan and Chad Schlehter.
