Theophil T. Fussy, a resident of Bowlus, passed away Tuesday May 22, 2012, at St. Otto's Care Center in Little Falls.

Mass of Christian Burial will be held at 11:00 A.M. on Saturday, May 26, 2012 at St. Edward's Catholic Church in Elmdale, MN with Father Michael Kellogg officiating. Burial will take place in the St. Edward's Parish Cemetery in Elmdale, MN. Friends may call from 4-8 P.M. on Friday and from 10-11A.M. on Saturday at St. Edward's Catholic Church in Elmdale, MN. Funeral arrangements for Theophil T. Fussy are with the Shelley Funeral Chapel in Little Falls.

Theophil was born April 27, 1918, in Two Rivers Township, Morrison County, to the late William and Mary (Masog) Fussy. He grew up and attended Country School District #59 in Two Rivers Township. Theophil joined the Civil Conservation Corps. from April 1939 to April 1940 in Big Falls. On May 15, 1942, Theophil enlisted in the United States Navy and served during the European and Pacific Theatres. While he was in the Navy he received the line-crossing ceremony that Navy Sailors received when they cross the equator, they become a "Shellback." On Dec. 12, 1946, Theophil was honorably discharged for his honorable service to his country. Theophil was united in marriage to Helen Retka, Oct. 3, 1955, at St. Edward's Catholic Church in Elmdale. He worked various jobs through- out his life as a farmhand, independent farmer and was also employed by Larson and Crestliner Boat Works. Theophil also went to work for his brother Roman at Fussy Trucking, hauling cattle and supplies. He was a faithful Minnesota Twins Fan, loved watching birds, deer and other wildlife. Theophil was a member of St. Edward's Catholic Church in Elmdale and the VFW Post #1112.

Theophil is survived by children, Caroline (Brian) Prevost of Clermont, Fla., Elaine Fussy of Bowlus, Wayne (Hilda) Fussy of Ottawa, ON, Canada, Sandra Fussy of St. Cloud and Rosanne Fussy of Brooklyn Park; grandchildren, Brandon and Brett (Veronica) Prevost, and Saunder and Ryan Fussy; sister, Sally Braiedy; and sister-in-law, Delores Fussy.

Theophil was preceded in death by wife, Helen in 2010; parents, William and Mary Fussy; infant son, James Fussy; brothers, Roman, Joseph and Ralph Fussy; sisters, Emily Bednar, Dorothy Swanson and Margaret Waletski.
