JAN OWEN BENNION 1955-2005 Our beloved Jan passed away peacefully at home in Boise after a four year struggle with brain cancer on Friday, March 25, 2005. Jan was born October 12, 1955 to Lowell Andrew and Shirley Deane Armitage Bennion in Salt Lake City, Salt Lake, Utah. He was a proud graduate of Kearns High School. He served honorably as a full-time missionary for The Church of Jesus of Latter-Day Saints from 1975-1977. During that time he served as Mission Secretary and brought many souls to a knowledge of the gospel. Later, he graduated from the University of Utah with a degree in Graphic Design. Jan married Dorothy Dicou in the Jordan River Temple on November 20,1982. They were blessed with three sons, Andrew (20), Aaron (17), and Cameron (12). During Jan's struggle, his family was always there to enjoy his unfailing smile. Jan's sense of humor never waivered and he was quick to slip a joke into nearly every conversation. Jan worked for the IEC Group of Boise, Idaho as a graphic designer. His creative eye was unmatched in all areas. His artistic drive motivated his children to follow his path in the art world. He is survived by his wife Dorothy, his three sons, his mother Shirley Bennon, brothers Kevin (Ellen)Bennion, Cory (Patti) Bennion, his sister Joyce (Allen) Luker, his devoted nieces and nephews, especially Adam, and a large extended family of loving aunts, uncles and cousins. He was preceeded in death by his father Lowell Bennion, father-in-law Cornelius Dicou, twin infant brothers Lowell and Lyle, and his grandparents. We're sure their reunion was aweet. Funeral services will be held at 11:00 a.m. Thursday, March 31, 2005 in the LDS Northview Chapel, at 6711 West Northview in Boise, Idaho. There will be a viewing held Wednesday, March 30th at the same chapel from 6:00-8:00 p.m., and on Thursday from 10:00-10:45 a.m. Interment will be at Dry Creek Cemetery (Boise), just after the funeral services. Arrangements by Zeyler Funeral Chapel, Napa, Idaho. The family would like to extend appreciation to Jan's many wonderful doctors and nurses in Boise, San Francisco, and Salt Lake. In lieu of flowers, please make contributions to the Salt Lake office of Western Federal Credit Union, P.O. Box 22050, SLC, UT 84122 in care of Jan Bennion Children Fund. Condolences may be sent to the family at 1911 N. Beach Street, Boise, ID 83706. "His Lord said unto him, Well done, thou good and faithful servent; thou hast been faithful over a few things, I will make the ruler over many thing; enter thou into the joy of thy Lord."
