Fishback.
Martha Austin Fishback, daughter of Rev. and Mrs. J. H. Austin, was born near Scottville, Illinois, on January 8, 1851 and died at her home in Waverly Monday, December 16, 1935, at 9:40 a.m., being 84 years, 11 months and 23 days of age.
She was united in marriage to Joseph Fishback on January 24, 1867. To this union two daughters and four sons were born. Her husband, who was a Civil war veteran; daughter Mrs. Daisy Copley, and son Raymond preceded her in death.
Mrs. Fishback resided in Waverly for more than sixty years. She was converted in childhood and united with the Methodist Episcopal church at Appalonia and lived a consistent Christian life throughout her long lifetime.
Those who survive are one daughter, Mrs. G. B. Turner, of Waverly; three sons, Will, of Waverly; Frank, of Oakland, Calif., and J. Olen, of Liberty, Mo.; one sister, Mrs. J. H. Grantham, of Irving; two brothers, Carlin A., of Waverly, and Charles F., of Joliet; ten grandchildren and three great-grandchildren.
Funeral services were held at the First M. E. church, Wednesday afternoon at 2:30 o'clock, Rev. C. W. Andrew, of Concord, was the officiating minister being assisted by Rev. A. E. Jern and Elder W. J. Campbell.
Burial was in East cemetery.
