BISHOP HAAS CELEBRATES BROTHER'S FUNERAL MASS
RACINE-- The Most Rev. Francis J. Haas, Bishop of Grand Rapids, Mich., will celebrate the funeral Mass at Sacred Heart church Friday morning for his brother, Allen L. Haas, 52, who died Sunday night (Nov 21, 1943) in a Racine hospital. Burial will be in Calvary cemetery.
The deceased had been ill for some time and was unable to attend the consecration and installation of Bishop Haas at Grand Rapids on Nov. 18, (1943). He is survived by his wife, four sons, one daughter and two sisters, in addition to Bishop Haas.
A graduate of Marquette University Pharmacy School, he was a druggist in Racine for more than 25 years.

WELL KNOWN RACINE BUSINESSMAN DIES AFTER AN ILLNESS
Racine, Wis. -- (AP) -- Allen L. Haas, Sr., 53, longtime Racine druggist and brother of the Very Rev. Francis J. Haas, bishop of Grand Rapids, Mich., died at a local hospital late last night after a brief Illness.
The bishop was at his brother's bedside when he died. Haas was unable to attend his brother's consecration as the sixth bishop of Grand Rapids last week because of his illness.
Bishop Haas will read the funeral mass at Sacred Heart church here at 10 a.m. Friday. Burial will be at Calvary cemetery.
Surviving are the widow, Elizabeth; four sons, Lt. Allen, Jr., Hammer Field, Calif., Robert A., student for the priesthood, St. Francis, Wis.; James and Arthur D., both of Racine; a daughter, Doris E., Racine; two sisters, Miss Margaret Haas, Racine, and Mrs. Joseph Kloss, Kenosha, Wis.; in addition to the bishop.
