LA MARQUE — Morene C. Schurig, 89, of La Marque, died Thursday, March 19, 1998, at her residence in La Marque. She was born September 24,1908, in Piggott, Arkansas and had lived in La Marque since 1948, formerly of Galveston.

Survivors include her daughter-in-law, Karen Schurig
of California; three grandchildren, Eric and Melanie Schurig, Lise Schurig, Paige and Michael Singleton all of California; three great-grandchildren, Melia Schurig, Linnea Schurig, Wesley Singleton; special friends and caregivers, Katie Mae Martin and Margaret Henderson.

She was preceded in death by her husband, Captain Albert F. Schurig Sr. and son, Albert F. Schurig Jr.

A memorial service will be held at 10:00 a.m., Saturday,
March 21, 1998, at the First United Methodist Church of La Marque with Rev. Gary Bagley officiating. Memorials may be made to the First United Methodist Church of La
Marque.
