Edward J. Hagan was the only child of Edward Walter and Dorothy [Lingle] Hagan. His mother died when he was six and he went to live with his Grandparents, Lon and Nanni Hagan. Later his father remarried and had another son, Basil. Ed lived alternately with his father and step-family and with his grandparents until he graduated from Bloomington High School.

Shortly after graduation, on Jul 16, 1951, Ed married Nancy Bales of Bloomington. The marriage was short-lived. They divorced on Jan 22, 1954.

Ed joined the Army. He served in Alaska during the summer of 1953. He served in Korea in 1955 and 1956 with the 34th Infantry Regiment & 24th Infantry Division.

On Apr 6 1957 he married Nancy Iris May. The couple had 3 daughters:
Dorothy May [David Sharp] b. 1958
Mary Ellen [Gary Mosier] b. 1961
Elizabeth Ann b. 1963

Ed was employed as a Letter Carrier in Bloomington Indiana and Served in the Indiana National Guard. He was a member of the Loyal Order of Moose.

On May 8, 1975, Ed Hagan married Nellie V. Zuraveill of Albion. The couple was married for thirty years.

Ed died in Albion Oct 27, 2005. The cause of death was cancer.

Edward was survived by his spouse, Nellie, his brother Basil Hagan, his daughters and step-daughter, Michelle [Oscar Johnson], and six grandchildren.
