Woodrow W. Burlison, 79, died December 5, 1996 at his home in Wardell, Mo. Born January 6, 1917 in Hornersville, Mo., he is the son of the late Lillie Jane Marler and J.I. Burlison.
He was united in marriage on August 16, 1939 to Donnie Lee Long (Burlison). She preceded him in death on October 18, 1980. He was united in marriage to Peggy Foster on December 27, 1982.
He was a member of the First Baptist Church in Wardell.
Survivors include: his wife, Peggy Foster Burlison of the home in Wardell, Mo.; one son, Johnny Michael Burlison of Wardell, Mo.; two daughters, Mary Jane Bynum of Vero Beach, Florida and Ruth Ann Gill of Memphis, Tenn.; one brother, Bill D. Burlison of Odenton, Maryland; one sister, Ruth Meadows of Cape Girardeau, Mo.; six grandchildren, Lisa Ann Bynum of Tampa, Fl., Kevin Bynum of Vero Beach, Fla., Gregory Gill and Danny Gill, both of Memphis, Tn., Jeri Ann Burlison and Megan Lee Burlison, both of Wardell, Mo.; one great grandchild, Zachary Raines Gill of Memphis, Tn.
Services were held Sunday, December 8, 1996 at 2:30 p.m. at the First Baptist Church in Wardell with Rev. Kevin Carter officiating. Burial was in the Dunklin County Memorial Gardens Cemetery.
Pallbearers were: Kevin Bynum, Gregory Gill, Danny Gill, Eddie Meadows, Jim Burlison, Dennis Marler.
DeLisle Funeral Home of Portageville was in charge of services.
