Martha L. Greggs of Daytona Beach, Fla., formerly of Stoneboro, passed away unexpectedly of natural causes at 3:46 p.m. Friday, Sept. 30, 2016, in the emergency room of Halifax Health Medical Center, Daytona Beach. She was 88.
Born Feb. 24, 1928, in Shamokin, Pa., she was a daughter of Frank E. and Willamina Dietrick Robatin.
She was a 1945 graduate of Coal Township High School, Shamokin.
After high school Martha worked several months during World War II for Westinghouse Electric Co., Sunbury, Pa., building nose cones for torpedoes and then later worked for Newberry Co. of Shamokin.
After moving to Stoneboro, she had worked at the Red & White Store, Stoneboro, and later at Interstate Auto Auction, Jackson Center, in the concession area.
Most of all Martha was a homemaker and loved taking care of her family.
She was a longtime active member of Stoneboro Presbyterian Church, serving as a deacon and Sunday school teacher and was past president of the Women's Association.
She and her husband Mike were part of the original PYAD (Presbyterian Young Adults). Also, she was involved many years with the Brownie and Girl Scout troops.
Martha also enjoyed gardening and needlework and loved to read.Her husband, Robert A. "Mike" Greggs, whom she married Jan. 8, 1947, preceded her in death Nov. 24, 1999.
