WILLIAMSPORT — The Rev. Franklin E. Robatin, 87, of Albrightsville, went home to be with the Lord on Aug. 3, 2011, at Williamsport Hospital following a sudden health decline.

He was born Nov. 12, 1923, in Coal Township, to Willamina (Deitrich) and Frank Robatin. He was a graduate of Coal Township High School, Lebanon Valley College, Albright College and United Theological School of Dayton, Ohio.

He worked at Eisenhart Dairy in Shamokin, Railway Express and Paulson and Webber Corp. in Sunbury, from which he resigned to enter the ministry. Churches he served include West Street and Albright E.U.B. of Williamstown, Emmanuel and Zion United Methodist Churches in Shamokin, and Parryville, Lehighton and Bowmanstown United Methodist Churches. He retired in 1982 from the Middlecreek Christian Church in Kunkletown, where he was voted pastor emeritus in 1999.

Pastor Frank also worked as a security guard at the Indian Mountian Lakes Development and the Pleasant Valley School District.

He served during World War II in the C.B.I. in the medical department in Burma, along the Burma Road. He received a battle star for the Central Burma Campaign.

He was a charter member of Veterans of Foreign Wars Post 294, Penn-Kidder, serving as chaplain. He was a member of the Boy Scouts of America for more than 30 years as Scoutmaster and received honors in the Order of the Arrow. He was a member of the Albrightsville Fire Company No. 2.

Pastor Frank's favorite pastimes included the Young at Heart Seniors Group, fishing, hunting, cooking, gardening, wildlife, watching his beloved Phillies and serving others. He was nominated and elected to appear in the 1974 edition of the "Who's Who in Pennsylvania."

He was preceded in death by his wife, Quilla (Mowery), a brother, Joseph, and a sister, Janet (Purcell).

Survivors include his first wife, Grace (Raup), of Lewisburg; two daughters, Susan Narcavage and husband Charles, of Shamokin, and Alice Trowbridge and husband Richard, of Loyalsock; two grandsons, Daniel Comoss and Curtis Trowbridge; two stepgranddaughters, Jenna and Chelsea Trowbridge; two sisters, Eva Farley, of Coal Township, and Martha Greggs, of Daytona Beach, Fla., and nieces and nephews.

ROBATIN — The Rev, Franklin E. Robatin, 87, of Albrightsville, formerly of Coal Township. Funeral services will be held at 11 a.m., Monday at the Middlecreek Christian Church, Kunkletown, with the Rev. Wes Wales officiating. Viewing will be held from 9:30 a.m. Monday until the time of services at church. He will be interred beside his loving wife at the Summit Cemetery in Shamokin. In lieu of flowers, the family requests that donations be made to the Middlecreek Christian Church, P.O. Box 207, Kunkletown, Pa. 18058. The Donald N. Gower Funeral Home, Inc., Route 209, Gilbert, is in charge of arrangements.
