Information received from "Deryck Botterill" 30th September 2011 is that..."Leonard Oliver was born( April/June 1912)to a family which had lived in Lostwithiel for several generations, the son of John Oliver and his wife, formerly Beatrice V Ross.Leonard's father, John, enlisted in the British Army in Sep. 1914 and served with the Royal Engineers. He was wounded in March 1916 and for his gallantry was awarded the Military Medal in November 1916. He was killed in action on 5 June 1917 and was buried in the Klein-Vierstraat British Cemetery, in Belgium. His name appears on the War Memorial in St Bartholomew's Church.

Leonard's body was cremated and his ashes were buried in the family grave in Restormel Road cemetery."
