Prime Minister of Estonia. Jüri Uluots was a politician, who served in the Estonian parliament (Riigikogu), and was the speaker of the Riigivolikogu (lower chamber) from April 4, 1938 to October 12, 1939. He was Prime Minister of Estonia from October 12, 1939 until June 20, 1940. After the Soviet invasion of Estonia in 1940 and the arrest and deportation of President Konstantin Päts in July 1940, Uluots became the de facto president, or "prime minister in the duties of the president as dictated by the Estonian constitution." When the Soviets returned in 1944, Uluots and many government officials fled to Sweden, where he died in 1945. He was later interred at Kirbla kalmistu (Kirbla Cemetery).
