First Lady of Peru. She received recognition serving as the First Lady of Peru, when her husband was serving as Peruvian President from April 20, 1851 to January 5, 1855. With the full name of Leandra Josefa Victoria Tristán y Flores del Campo de Echenique, she was Peruvian heiress. She was the daughter of the last viceroy of Peru, Pío Tristán , and wife of President José Rufino Echenique . On January 8, 1838, in the Iglesia del Sagrario, Victoria at the age of fourteen years old married General José Rufino Echenique , with whom she had nine children. Named in the honor of her, she owned vast estates in the city of Peru, which are located in what is now the La Victoria district. She lived a life-style of the rich, which was not accepted by the citizens living in poverty, thus led to unrest.
