At the age of 13, while working at the mine fields to support her family, she was discovered by a theatre manager Hai Cu and as a result, she joined his troupe and became one of the most celebrated actresses of the golden age of Cải Lương. She starred in many theatre productions with Cải Lương stars such as Nam Châu, Ba Vân and Tư Chơi, one of her husbands. In addition to her stage career, she appeared in films such as "Chiều Kỷ Niệm," and she toured outside her homeland to places such as France. Following the reunification of Vietnam, she continued her career and supporting charitable activities for Cải Lương artists in need. She was named "People's Artist" by the Vietnamese government.
