George Dwight Clark, 71, a 38-year resident of Davidsonville, died at his home on November 26, 2014 surrounded by his family.
Born on December 19, 1942 in Washington, DC to the late Hester and Lillian Clark, Dwight made his career as a carpenter. One of his proudest achievements was his work on the Capital Center. Dwight was an avid Nationals and Redskins fan and was best known for his great sense of humor.
In addition to his parents, Dwight was preceded in death by his brother, Richard Clark and sister, Jean Partin.
He is survived by his loving wife, Marion Clark of Davidsonville; two sons, Michael K. Clark of Landsdowne, VA and Timothy P. Clark of Eldersburg, MD; one daughter, Glyniss Clark of Alexandria VA; one brother, Roy Clark of Tulsa, OK; one sister, Susan Coryell of Edgewater, MD; three grandchildren, Patrick, Donnie and Shaylin Clark; and two great-grandchildren.
Friends are invited to Dwight's Life Celebration from 2 to 5 p.m. on Sunday, November 30 at the George P. Kalas Funeral Home, 2973 Solomons Island Road, Edgewater. Dwight will be buried in the Clark Family Plot at the Meherrin Baptist Church Cemetery in Meherrin, VA at 1 p.m. on Monday, December 1.
