QUEENSBURY - Irene Cox, 89, a resident of Queensbury, passed away on Friday, Aug. 8, 2008, at Glens Falls Hospital.

She was born Dec. 1, 1916, in West Pawlet Vermont, and was the daughter of the late Leo and Helen (Bennett) Larock.

Irene enjoyed spending time with her children and five generations of grandchildren. She also enjoyed having her hair done, playing cards and her pets.

Besides her parents, she was predeceased by two sons, Lawrence Cook Sr., and Ralph Cook and two granddaughters, Victoria Wheeler and Clarrisse Haley.

Survivors include her husband, William H. Cox of Warrensburg Adult Home; six daughters: Marge Lebrun and her husband, Omer, of Hudson Falls, Alice Hall and her husband, Richard, of Queensbury, Joyce Schaff of Indiana, Shirley Sweet and her husband, Robert, of Bloomingdale, N.Y., Carol Frazen and her husband, Conrad, of Arizona, and Janet Cook of Glens Falls. She is also survived by thirty grandchildren; several great-grandchildren and great-great-grandchildren along with several nieces and nephews.

A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at 11 a.m. on Tuesday, Aug. 12, 2008, at St. Mary's Church, Glens Falls.

Burial will follow at St. Paul's Cemetery, Hudson Falls.

Relatives and friends are invited and may call on Monday from 2 to 4 p.m. and 6 to 8 p.m. at the Sullivan-Minahan & Potter Funeral Home, 407 Bay Road, Queensbury.
