Catherine M. "Katie" Parker 89, of 2975 Ave NW, died Friday October 31, 2008 in St. Luke's Hospital following a short illness. Funeral Mass: 10:00 a.m. Monday at St. Matthews Catholic Church by the Rev. Mark Osterhaus. Visitation will be on Sunday at Cedar Memorial Chapel of Memories from 4-7 p.m. with a rosary at 6:30 p.m. Burial: Cedar Memorial Park Cemetery.
Survivors include three daughters, Jeanne Rammelsberg ( Brian) of Atkins, Jane Huber ( Bill) of Cedar Rapids, Patricia Feddersen of Cedar Rapids and a son, John Parker (Bethany) of Cedar Rapids, a sister, Josephine Meyer of Dubuque, 7 grandchildren, Daniel (Melissa) Rammelsberg, Michael Rammelsberg, Matthew Rammelsberg, Sara Huber, Kurtis Feddersen, Amanda Feddersen, Joey Parker and a great granddaughter, Madison Rammelsberg.
She was preceded in death by her parents, husband Howard, an infant granddaughter, Catherine, four brothers and 3 sisters.
Katie was born February 13, 1919 in Dubuque, the daughter of Joseph and Nora Rave Kiefer. She married Howard John Parker on July 8, 1950 in Dubuque. Katie was employed by the Dubuque County Recorder for 12 years and later worked for the Cedar Rapids School System after relocating to Cedar Rapids. She was a member of St. Matthew Catholic Church where she was active in the St. Bernadette Circle. Katie enjoyed cooking, and was an avid sports fan. Her family was very important to her.
