Major League Baseball Player. Born Garland Stahl, he was a first baseman for four teams in nine years in the majors. He played with the Boston Americans (1903), Washington Senators (1904 to 1906), New York Highlanders (1908), and finished with the Boston Red Sox (1908 to 1910, 1912 to 1913). In 3,425 at bats he posted a .261 average with 437 runs batted in. Stahl led the American League with 10 home runs in 1910. He was a player manager for the Washington Senators (1905 to 1906) and Red Sox (1912 to 1913), and led the Red Sox to the 1912 World Series title.
