In 1945, she purchased the Ness Hotel in Ness City, Kan., operating and managing the hotel until her marriage to Ray McCombs of Ness City on January 31, 1949. Ray preceded her in death in 1958.
On August 3, 1961, Anna Bell married Jack Tanner of Hutchinson, Kan., and resided there until 1966, when she and Jack moved to Springfield, Mo. She was employed by State Farm Insurance Company in the claims department and held this position until her retirement in 1986. Her husband, Jack passed away in 1987.
In 1988, she relocated to Albany and had resided here since that time. Anna Belle was a member of St. Teresa's Catholic Church. She had been a very active member of the American Legion Auxiliary for the past 53 years, and the Women of the Moose. She was also a member of the VFW Auxiliary, the Albany Humane Society, the Georgia Sheriff's Association, and the Wild Life Conservation Association.
