JOHN S. BUHL

John S. Buhl, 83, of Town of Chilton, died Saturday afternoon at Holy Family Hospital, Manitowoc. He had been in ill health since June.

He was born June 9, 1890 in the town of Charlestown, son of the late John and Josephine Applebaker Buhl.

He farmed his entire life in the Town of Chilton.
Mr.Buhl was a member of St. Mary Catholic Church, Chilton, and its Holy Name Society.
On January 7,1920, he married Monica Mayer at St. Gregory Catholic Church, St. Nazianz. She died December 17,1968.

Survivors are two daughters; Mrs. James (Mary Ann) Stemper of Rt. 3 Plymouth and Mrs. Francis (Rita) Schleinz of Sheboygan; five grandchildren, three brothers, Anton of Hayton, Hubert and Martin of Visalia, California, seven sisters, four of whom are Catholic nuns, Sr. Norena OSF, Chicago, Sr. Elizabeth, OSF, Sr. Hildegarde OSF, and Sr. Geraldine, SDS, all of Milwaukee, Mrs. Oscar Herzog of St Anna, Mrs. Clarence Kleis of Milwaukee and Mrs. Francis Martin, San Diego, California.

Three brothers and a sister preceded him in death.
Funeral services were held Tuesday at the Pfeffer Funeral Home, Chilton, followed by Mass at St. Mary's Catholic Church. The Rev. James Vennix, pastor, was the celebrant of Mass. Burial was in the parish cemetery
