On Nov 15, 1943, she married Everett Wiese in Elcho. He preceded her in death on June 20, 1983.
Hilda moved to the farm in Elcho from Stevens Point. She graduated from Elcho High School in 1942. After marriage, Hilda and Everett lived in Plover, moved to Wisconsin Rapids and then back to Plover for a short time before moving to Plainfield in 1956, where they owned and operated Plainfield Lumber & Fuel.
Hilda was named Waushara County's Outstanding Senior Citizen for 1992. She was active in the Plainfield Women's Club having held many offices, including president. Hilda was a member of St. Paul's Catholic Church in Plainfield and it's Ladies Society. She had been active with the Plainfield Fire Department's many activities and the Plainfield Lions Club.
Hilda worked for the Waushara County Health Department and was their first home health aide. She was instrumental in organizing the multiple sclerosis support group and served as a hospice program volunteer for a time. She also served on the Plainfield Village Election Board.
She is survived by her sons, Leonard "Butch" (Penney) Wiese of Port Edwards, and Alan (Sandy) Wiese of Plainfield; daughters, Anita (Merle) Weyers of Kimberly, Nancy (Fritz) Klein of Mauston, and Karen (James) Larson of Horicon; and brother, Leonard Simonis of Elcho. She also is survived by 14 grandchildren; great-grandchildren; four step-grandchildren; five step-great-grandchildren; and two step-great-great-grandchildren; nieces; nephews; and other relatives and friends.
She was preceded in death by her parents; husband, Everett; one sister, Dorothy; and one brother, Oscar.
A funeral Mass will be held at 11 a.m. on Monday at St. Paul's Catholic Church in Plainfield. The Rev. Paul Vanden Hogen will officiate. Interment will be in the parish cemetery.
