Field-Marshal of German Forces, 1938-1945. Supported the wholesale massacres carried out by German forces in occupied Soviet territories. Found guilty at Nuremberg of war crimes and crimes against humanity. Before his hanging, his last words were "I now join my sons. Deutschland über Alles!" His remains were cremated in the oven at Dachau concentration camp along with those of many other Nazi criminals. The ashes were raked out and scattered into the Wenzbach/Conwentzbach, a small stream in Munich.
