Professional Hockey Player. A native of Winnipeg, Manitoba, Mickoski played for teams in the OHAJR, MJHL, EAHL, QSHL, AHL, NHL, WHL, and the Nfld-Sr. hockey leagues. At 6'01", and 193lbs, he played for the St. Catharines Falcons from 1943 to 1944, Canadian Ukranian A.C. from 1944 to 1945, St. James Canadians from 1945 to 1946, New York Rovers from 1945 to 1947, New Haven Ramblers from 1947 to 1948, 1949 to 1950, New York Rangers from 1947 to 1955, Cincinnati Mohawks from 1951 to 1952, Chicago Blackhawks from 1954 to 1958, Detroit Red Wings from 1957 to 1959, Boston Bruins from 1959 to 1960, Providence Reds from 1959 to 1960, Winnipeg Warriors from 1960 to 1961, San Francisco Seals from 1961 to 1966, and the Grand Falls Cataracts from 1966 to 1969. Mickoski retired from hockey in 1969. Also a hockey coach he was Head Coach of the San Francisco Seals from 1963 to 1964, and the Winnipeg Jets in 1972. Also a noted golfer Mickoski won the Manitoba Golf Championship in 1966 and in 1983 he won the provincial senior title. He was inducted into the Manitoba Sports Hall of Fame. Mickoski died in Winnipeg, Manitoba, in March 2002 from a lung infection at the age of 74.
