Emery Marty Passes In Nye

"Tonopah - Masonic funeral services for Emery C. Marty, 69, Tonopah resident for 55 years, will be held here Monday afternoon at 2 o'clock.

Injured in a fall from a horse last August, Mt. Marty suffered complications and was hospitalized until recently when he returned home.

Born July 31, 1887, Mr. Marty came to Tonopah April 1, 1901 to work as a grocery clerk. He took over his own business in 1917 and had operated a grocery and meat business continuously since that time.

A prominent Nye County sportsman, Mr. Marty was active in Fish and Game affairs and was a member of the Nye County Fish and Game Association. He was widely known for the venison feed which he acted as chef.

Mr. Marty was a member of Tonopah Lodge No. 28 F. & A.M. of which he was a past master and Tonopah Lodge No. 1062 B.P.O. Elks.

Survivors include his widow, Lucy Marty, son and daughter-in-law Mr. and Mrs. Clyde Marty, granddaughter Ruth Anne and grandson Bobby, all of Tonopah; three sisters, Mrs. E.F. Davidson of Las Vegas, Mrs. Nick Nicholson of Oxford, Calif., and Mrs. Rose Burke of Hawthorne, Calif., and a brother Gene.

The family requests that flowers be omitted and donations be made to the Nye County Hospital Fund."
