Actor. Born Edsel Wallace Little Sky in South Dakota, he was noted for playing Indian Chiefs, and native warriors, in several Western films and classic television shows. He is most remembered for his role as 'Black Eagle' in the 1970 film, "A Man Called Horse." Little Sky's other roles include the films, "Tomahawk Trail" (1957), "Apache Warrior" (1957), "Gun Fever" (1958), "Tonka" (1958), "Heller In Pink Tights" (1960), "Buffalo Gun" (1961), "7 Faces Of Dr. Lao" (1964), "The Hallelujah Trail" (1965), "Paint Your Wagon" (1969), "Journey Through Rosebud" (1972), "Oregon Trail" (1976), and "Barbarian Queen" (1985). He also appeared in television programs including, "Cheyenne," "The Rifleman," "Guestward Ho!," "Have Gun, Will Travel," "Branded," "Wagon Train," "Laredo," "The Road West," "The High Chapparal," "The Virginian," "Bonanza," "Death Valley Days," and in several episodes of "Gilligan's Island" between 1964 to 1967, most notably as a headhunter chief looking for a husband for his heavyset daughter. A veteran of World War II, he served in the United States Navy. Little Sky passed away in Pennington, South Dakota, at the age of 71.
