Age 81, passed away on Wednesday, March 9, 2005. He was born on October 19, 1923 in Portland the son of Joseph and Mary (Schafer) Gensterblum. Francis was a member of St. Patrick's Catholic Church in Portland, a veteran of the United States Navy serving in World War II and a member of the V.F.W. Post #4090 in Portland. He enjoyed hunting and fishing. He was preceded in death by his wife, Marjorie in 1999. Surviving are his daughter, Yvonne (Craig) Sandborn of Portland and a son, Brian (Sherry) Gensterblum of Morrison Lake; 4 grandchildren; 6 great grandchildren and 3 step great grandchildren; sisters, Adeline Smith of Portland, Helen Rogers of Portland, Rita Miller of Pewamo and Tillie (Robert) Hufnagel of Portland; many nieces and nephews. The Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at 11:00 a.m., Saturday, March 12, 2005 at St. Patrick's Catholic church, Portland with the Rev. Larry King presiding. Rite of Committal will be in Portland Cemetery. Military Graveside Honors will be provided by V.F.W. Post #4090. The family will receive friends 7-9 p.m., Thursday and 2-4 and 7-9 p.m., Friday at the Schrauben-Lehman Funeral Home, 210 E. Bridge St., Portland. A rosary will be prayed at 3 p.m., Friday and Scriptural Wake Service at 8 p.m., Friday. Complete arrangements were handled by Schrauben-Lehman Funeral Home, Portland.
