Our correspondent writes as follows: James Pitt, son of Mr. Wm. Pitt of this town, has worked this season on the farm of Mr. Robert Carson. While picking apples he stepped from the ladder upon a limb and holding to a limb above him, endeavored to pick some fruit which he otherwise could not reach. The limb on which he was standing being decayed broke off, and he fell to the to the ground, a distance of about twenty-four feet, striking upon his head and breast.
