The birthdate on Fred's headstone is incorrect.
Frederick's actual birth record states Sept 24, 1870, and the census of Canada taken 1871, shows Frederick born Sept and being 7 months old.

Frederick and my great grandmother Julia were born on their grandfather's "Miles Hotchkiss" farm in Haldimand County,Ontario,Canada.
Frederick's father John Hamilton LaBarre was married before to Margaret Wooding who died in 1869.
Frederick's parents married February 13,1870, one year and one month after his father's first wife Margaret died, and Fred was born 7 months later.

Octavia died in 1918 and Fred remarried sometime after 1920. He is living in Battle Creek, Calhoun County, Michigan with his new wife Ella and brother-in-law Claude Hammond. Claude is the brother to Fred's first wife, Octavia. I wasn't sure it was Fred until I seen in the records where they asked his wifes' name and he stated Octavia and the census taker had to cross it out and write in Ella.Ella was born in 1870.
