Wyoming Reporter, July 20, 1961: Mrs. Fred Carlton. Mrs. Emily Dolly Carlton, 84, of Sherman Avenue, died Sunday morning July 16, 1961 in the Viewpoint Nursing Home, Castile, where she had been a patient for five days. She had been ill for many years. Mrs. Carlton was born in Erie, PA April 4, 1877, a daughter of William H. and Mary Pfenninger Roeper. She had been a resident of this community for the past 80 years. She was married to Fred Carlton June 14, 1900. He died on December 19, 1956. She received her training as a seamstress in Mechanics Institute, Rochester and was active in this work until her retirement several years ago. Mrs. Carlton was a member of the Wyoming Presbyterian Church and the Women's Union, the Susan Look Avery Club and the Warsaw Lodge, Order of Eastern Star.
