ROSEVILLE, CALIF. - Willis Erhard Batz, age 78, passed away Tuesday, July 25, 2006. He was born Aug. 14, 1927, in Sun Prairie, to Rupert and Beatrice (Chase) Batz, the fourth of five children. He attended grade school and high school there. After serving in the U.S. Navy from 1945 until 1948, he attended the UW-Madison graduating with a B.A. in business. In 1990, he retired after 35 years as an auditor for the U.S. Air Force. He is survived by his wife of 48 years, Beverly (Kirstein); two daughters, Cynthia (Henry) Koch of St. Petersburg, Fla. and Constance (Jamie) Makuuchi of Mission Viego, Calif.; grandchildren, Kolby, Nathanael and Blake; two sisters, Bernadine (Wilferd) Phillipsen of Seaside, Calif. and Joan (John) Kroetz of Friendship; and many nieces, nephews and cousins. He was preceded in death by his parents; brother, Gerard; and sister, Esther (Batz) Hughey. A Memorial Mass was held Monday, July 31, 2006, at St. Rose Catholic Church, Roseville. Father Michael McKeon officiated. A private cremation was held at a later date.
