August F. Dick, 94, of Caldwell, died Friday, Jan. 11, 1991, at a Caldwell nursing home of natural causes. August was born March 7, 1896, at Henderson, Neb., the son of Frank F. and Sarah Dick. He grew up and attended school at Henderson. He married Lena Feuerstein on Nov. 27, 1919. They were married for 71 years and were blessed with six children, 16 grandchildren and 34 great grandchildren. They farmed in Nebraska until 1940 when they moved to Caldwell. August worked for Simplot for many years and he also worked for the Saratoga Hotel. August and Lena later managed a trailer court in Boise from 1970 until 1982. August was loved by all who knew him for his sweet and pleasant manner and his wonderful sense of humor, He always put others before himself. The Lord truly lived in his heart. He was a member of the First Mennonite Church of Caldwell.
Survivors include his wife, Lena of Caldwell; a son, Elvin Dick of Nampa; a son and daughter-in-law, Paul and Sydney Revere of Boise; a daughter and son-in-law, Virginia and Dean Penner of Caldwell; 16 grandchildren and 34 great-grandchildren. He was preceded in death by three sons, Schuyler, Freeman and Lester.
