Rife Eugene Webb was born to Charles Henry Webb and Maggie May Bell Mathews Webb on January 29, 1907 in Indian Territory, Oklahoma. Oklahoma later that year became a state. His siblings were Glee, Fay, Goodlowe, Opal, and Vivian Webb. He was born near McLain, Muskogee Co, Oklahoma. He farmed the bottom lands of the Arkansas River near the Elm Grove Community. He was know for his honesty and hard work. One of his favorite things to do was to play the piano in the evening with his daughters. Music had always been a love of his mother's family.
Rife was married in 1930 to Gertie Viola Murry and was father of Donald Eugene, Doyle Marcellus, Lois Lavern, Howard Lee, Norma Jean, Leta Gay, Sherry Ann and Beverly Sue. He was a devout Christian and attended the Elm Grove Assembly of God Church in his earlier years.
