Bio written by Dessau7, Great-Granddaughter.

Kate Mildred Hutchison was born June 5th, 1871, Waverly, Morgan County, IL. She was the youngest child of seven born to Rev. John Miller Hutchison (1830 - 1915) and Mary Seymour (1829 - 1911). Kate's siblings included:

♡ Esther Jane Hutchison (24 Oct 1851 - 6 Apr 1895)
♡ Sarah Margaret Hutchison (2 Apr 1854 - 1930)
♡ Julia Ann Hutchison (19 Dec 1855 - 1942)
♡ Clara Etta Hutchison (23 Feb 1858 - 24 Dec 1949)
♡ Leona Mae/May Hutchison (9 Apr 1866 - 11 Jun 1946)
♡ John Olen Hutchison (30 Sep 1868 - 25 Jun 1946)

Kate's middle name was given to her in honor of the youngest sibling of her mother (Mary Seymour): Mildred "Milly" Seymour (1840-1873). Great Grandma Kate Mildred Hutchison was born two years after the death of Mary's baby sis.

On May 20, 1890, 18 year old Kate married 23 year old Bruck Dessau Reinbach (Aug. 15, 1867 - 1947). Bruck was the youngest of twelve children born to Henry Reinbach (1812 - 1878) and Sophia Dessau (1833 - 1904). *He had a twin sister Leonora (Lena) who died 3 days before her 1st birthday, on Aug. 12, 1868. Bruck's parents were Jewish immigrants from Hamburg, Germany.

Throughout their happy marriage, Bruck was an entrepreneur: Bruck was an Inventor, receiving a U.S. Patent for a Blade Sharpener in 1914. He was an Editor, Owner, and Publisher of several newspapers including the Waverly Newspaper and the Table Grove Herald Newspaper. Bruck was also a U.S. Postmaster.

Kate and Bruck were the parents of four children:

♡ Rudolph Bruck Reinbach (1890 - 1970)
♡ Marguerite Louise Reinbach Fisher (1894 - 1993)
♡ Mary Genevieve Reinbach Corrington (1896 - 1964)
♡ Harry Miller Reinbach (18 Apr 1898 - 21 Mar 1902)

From bulging scrapbook journals I inherited from my Grandmother Marguerite Reinbach Fisher, daughter of Kate and Bruck, Kate was known for her very lengthy, red hair that allegedly caused frequent and debilitating headaches. Upon the suggestion of her physician, Kate made an unexpected and bold leap by getting her hair cut into a short bob, the fashionable style of the decade. According to Grandma, Kate's headaches ceased overnight.

It is believed that the devastating effects of the 1933 St. Louis Epidemic (Encephalitis) was the cause of death for Kate Mildred Hutchison Reinbach. She passed away on July 22, 1933. Kate's grandchild, Carleton (son of Marguerite Reinbach Fisher), suffered the tragic loss of both his maternal and paternal grandmothers on two consecutive days; the day after the death of his Grandma Kate, his Grandmother Virgilla Alice Hunsaker Fisher died. Sadly, Kate was only 62 when she died in Springfield, Sangamon Co., IL, USA.
