George and his brother David Burpee were twins.

George died at the age of two months. The cause of death is "Diarrhea bilious" in the Registration of Deaths in the City of Philadelphia, based on the death certificate, which was signed by the attending physician, Dr. David Burpee. The American Mechanics Cemetery burial record has "cholera infantum" in the column for "Disease."

He was initially buried in the Ford lot (Div A, Sec 8, Lot 10) at American Mechanics Cemetery, and later moved to Philadelphia Memorial Park in Frazer, Pa.
