George E. "Pud" Dunkelberger, 88, of Irish Valley, passed away on Tuesday, March 12, 2019, at his home surrounded by his family.
He was born Feb. 2, 1931, a son of the late Oscar and Blanche (Thomas) Dunkelberger and was the second of 17 children. He was married for 68 years to the former Joyce Long who survives.

George worked a number of jobs in his youth and was employed by Thomas H. Ross Contractor and Builder and later by Mohawk Door Company, retiring in 1996.
He was a member of the Irish Valley Methodist Church.
George enjoyed hunting, farming, raising crops and cattle until his health no longer permitted it.

In addition to his wife, he is survived by two children, Cindra L. Conner and husband Dennis of Muncy, and the Rev. Robert E. Dunkelberger of Muncy; brothers, Richard and wife Helen, Isaac and wife Hilda, Nelson and wife Jane, Daniel and wife Linda, David, and Ralph; sisters, Nancy Machesic, Kay Herman and husband Irvin, Verna Band and husband Bob, Linda Klock and husband Randy, Sue Berge and husband Geary, and Edna Zerbe and husband Mark.

He was preceded in death by three brothers, Forrest, John, and Oscar Jr.; and one sister, June Zerbe.

A visitation will be held from 9:30 to 11 a.m. Monday, March 18, at the Robert G. Foust Jr. Funeral Home, 841 W. Shamokin St., Trevorton, followed by the funeral at 11, with the Rev. Beverly Petrovich officiating.
Burial will follow in Northumberland Memorial Park, Stonington.
