O. Kenneth Dunkelberger was born in Irish Valley, the first of 17 children born to the late Oscar and Blanche Thomas Dunkelberger. He amrried Leona Lebo. He was educated at the Swank and Haupt one-room schoolhouses and later attended Trevorton schools, walking to and from school across the Trevorton Mountain. He began work as a field hand for Furman Foods in 1955, working his way up to maintenance foreman. Mr. Dunkelberger also owned and operated a farm at RR3 Sunbury from 1953 to 1973. Surviving, in addition to his wife, are two sons, Oscar K. Jr. and Steve L.; six grandchildren; six great-grandchildren; seven brothers and five sisters-in-law, George and Joyce Dunkelberger and Isaac and Hilda Dunkelberger, Richard and Helen Dunkelberger, Nelson and Jane Dunkelberger, Daniel and Linda Dunkelberger and Ralph and David Dunkelberger; seven sisters and five brothers-in-law, Nancy Machesic and Jane Zerbe, Kay and Irvin Herman, Linda and Randall Klock, Verna and Robert Band, Edna and Mark Zerbe and Susan and Geary Berge. He was preceded in death by two brothers, John and Forrest.
