Elsie Adelheid Glander was born September 26, 1911, the daughter of Deitrick and Amanda (Falness) Glander in Toad Lake Township. She was raised and attended a country school. She married Albert Drewes on May 19, 1927 in Evergreen Township, where they farmed. He died April 14,1995 She was a resident in the Perham Memorial Home, since April 1995.
She survived by four sons, Delbert (Delores), Dennis (Judy), both of Frazee, MN, Aldon of Devils Lake, ND, and Kenneth (Linda) of Albany, MIssouri, Five Daughters: Madeline (Elmer) Yliniemi of Osage, MN, Marion (Marvin) Feldt of Frazee, MN, Vivian Anderson of Fargo, ND, Esther (Raymond) Ylitalo of Wolf Lake, MN and Karen Steichen of Waubun, MN. Two brothers: William Glander of Frazee and Gonvold Glander of Washington. 42 grandchildren and 53 great grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Albert, and one brother, Henry.
Daughter Karen Drewes Steichen died May 24, 2017 in Florida. Her ashes were brought to her parents grave in the summer of 2022.

Karen was born November 22, 1951 to Albert and Elsie (Glander) Drewes at St. Mary's Hospital in Detroit Lakes Minnesota. She was the eleventh child of Albert and Elsie. She was a twin, her brother Kenneth survives her.
Karen graduated from Frazee High School with the Class of 1970.
Karen married AlDean Steichen. They were parents to five children; Jerald, Jolene, James, Jennifer and Jeanna. Later they were divorced and Karen moved to Florida to live with her daughters. She was overjoyed with her eleven grandchildren and two great grandchildren.
She is survived by five children; Jerald, Jolene, James, Jennifer and Jeanna. Eleven Grandchildren and two Great Grandchildren. One sister Madeline (Jake) Yliniemi of Park Rapids Minnesota, two brothers; Aldon (Donna) Drewes of Detroit Lakes Minnesota, Kenneth (Linda) Drewes of Papillion, Nebraska. Sisters in Law; Judy Drewes and Delores Drewes both of Frazee Minnesota and many nieces and nephews.
She is preceded in death by her parents Albert and Elsie Drewes, three sisters; Marion (Marvin) Feldt, Vivian (Theron) Roen, Esther (Raymond) Ylitalo, five brothers; Alfred, Delbert, Dennis, Clarence (Kay) and James Drewes.
A private family graveside service will be held at a later date.
