Frank D. Haas, 68, a former motorman for the Transport Co. for 39 years, died Thursday at St. Camillus hospital, where he had been confined since last May.
Born in Caledonia in Racine county, he came to Milwaukee 43 years ago. He retired three years ago. He was a member of the Holy Name society of St. Matthew's church, was financial secretary of the Catholic Order of Foresters, court No. 414, for 18 years and a veteran member of the Employees Mutual Benefit association. He lived at 1234 S. 25th St.
Surviving are three daughters, Mrs. Myron Gross, and Misses Helen E. and Edna M. Haas; three sons, Harry J., Francis J., and Thomas A. Haas of Chicago; two sisters, Mrs. Catherine Bushell and Miss Cecelia Haas, both of Racine, and six grandchildren.
Mr. Haas was an uncle of Msgr. Francis J. Haas, dean of the school of social science of the Catholic University of America, Washington, DC and formerly of St. Francis seminary, Milwaukee.
Funeral services will be held at 8:30 a.m. Monday at the Tebo & Johnson chapel, 8232 W. Lincoln Ave, and at 9 a.m. at St. Matthew's church, 1114 S. 25th St. Burial will be in Holy Cross cemetery.
